Show Don’t Tell

Show me the ugliest parts of you  Only then can you stay Give your beauty away to the world  I just want the pieces  That you don’t dare share With anyone else The words you haven’t written  The art you’ve yet to make

Zircon Crystals

The oldest piece of the Earth  Are zircon crystals 4.4 billion years old and Twice the width of a human hair But I have been here longer This tapestry of blue veins Creeping down my aging legs Has navigated eternity I saw you there once Our stardusts have Dipped and swayed Through many a universe together  You may never see  What I look like in the snow What color the cold air Turns my cheeks You might never see How electric green  My eyes can be When they cry  You will not be holding my hand  When this body ceases to breathe But you remember  And I will see you there You know me endlessly Reality will conquer the lies You’ve always told yourself  Just succumb to it

The Art of The Haunt

Maybe I have learned  The art of the haunt The ability to keep them Looking for me out of The corner of their eyes Leaving words To ring in their ears  For my eternity Like an albino doe  The black stag  Was lucky enough to see He can not be sad that she Ran off into the woods Before he got to kill her He should just feel lucky To have ever been graced  By her presence  In the first place I remain in search  Of the deer that doesn’t  Get spooked By the crunch Of the lonely leaves

Tumbled

Sometimes I feel like I’m in a rock tumbler I’ll be polished And smooth as fuck When I’m done here My smile is a scar Of muscle memory  From that one time  I actually felt  Happy Sustainably  I am not the safe bet Toxic when I want to be Poison at my  Best These rocks Can enhance your river Or crack your skull Whichever you  Prefer

Thoughts on Freedom

It's been a while since I wrote a little rant, but this has been heavy on my mind. Everyone these days is so concerned about their freedoms. Living in the U.S. I have had this drilled into me since elementary school when we are all forced to swear allegiance to a flag every morning before class began. We in America are the most fortunate people in the entire world because of all that freedom! Let's start with the First Amendment of the Constitution, our nation's bible. This gives me the freedom to express my ideas through speech or through protest. As a writer, this will always be my sweet spot. I can basically say whatever I want, aside from threats. It doesn't matter if it's a lie or not. Doesn't matter if it hurts your feelings or not. All that matters is that I cherish this freedom above all others. The First Amendment also grants us all the freedom to practice whatever religion we want. This also means I have the freedom to not have any religion at all. My
